Jay Jensen was born in St. Paul, MN and works from his studio in River Falls, WI. He uses hand-building and casting to create functional pottery that is influenced by modernist design and architecture. He studied Graphics and Ceramics at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, in 1991, where he received his BS in Liberal Arts. He later received his MFA in Ceramics at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2005. He currently teaches Ceramics at Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove Heights, MN.
