Nicole Aquillano feed

Nicole is influenced by an intense longing to reconnect with her past, which she satisfies by establishing intimate connections through her work. Through the labor-intensive act of making, she establishes a close personal relationship with each piece; a connection which is effortlessly transferred through the functionality of tableware. Architectural imagery drawn from Nicole's photographic collection, coupled with the movement of glaze, bind her past with her work. In addition to the personal connection, Aquillano's work explores the notion of holding onto memories through personal collections; as if a tangible object also allows us to better hold onto our memories. Nicole's experiences are carved onto objects intended to be both used and collected as a way to facilitate new experiences.
