Free Tours and Hands-on Activities (Grade levels K through University)

Red Star Studios offers free hands-on activities to school groups and organizations in conjunction with free tours of Belger Arts Center contemporary art exhibitions. Each hands-on clay activity references themes, concepts and/or artist processes included in the exhibitions. Please allow thirty minutes for the tour and thirty minutes for the hands-on activity. At least one adult chaperone for every ten students is required. Please note, free tours and hands-on activities can be scheduled through April 6 and after May 3. The Belger Arts Center gallery will be closed from April 6 through May 3 in preparation for the Don Reitz exhibition, which opens May 4.

MAKEMobile (Grade levels K through 12)

The MakeMobile mobile art classroom is available to bring hands-on arts education to your school or organization for three to six-week sessions. Staffed by experienced, visual artists and educators, the MakeMobile has the equipment and materials needed for classes and can transport the finished pieces to Red Star for firing. Sessions offer focused classes in ceramics, mixed media, sculpture, textiles, and more! We’re available to discuss ways to incorporate MakeMobile lessons into your classroom curriculum. Visiting Artist Program (Educators and students of all grade levels)

Red Star Studios staff and resident artists are available to give presentations, demonstrations and workshops to students and educators. Instruction and information on a number of topics is available through demonstrations on process and specific techniques, teacher in-service workshops, student portfolio reviews, presentations about arts as a career, and more. This program is available at Red Star or at a site of your choosing. Continuing Education (CURRENT Educators of all grade levels)

Red Star Studios has partnered with Baker University to offer continuing education credits for current educators who participate in our workshops.
