Large Teapot - Shawn Spangler

This large teapot was wheel-thrown and altered using porcelain. It's body was decorated with “mishma” drawings of circles and was glazed with translucent pale yellow and dark green glazes. It was fired in a cone 7 oxidation process and measures 8” x 7” x 8.5”.

Shawn Spangler received a BFA from Penn State and an MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He continued studies of Chinese ceramics at San Bao Ceramic Art Institute in Jingdezhen, China. He is a Resident Artist at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA.
