Tall Bowl - Shawn Spangler

This tall bowl was wheel-thrown and altered using porcelain. It was decorated with slip-trailed dots, a stamped flower pattern and lines created using the “mishma” drawing process. It was painted with translucent blue and yellow glazes. The bowl was fired in a cone 7 oxidation process and measures 5” x 5” x 4”

Shawn Spangler received a BFA from Penn State and an MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He continued studies of Chinese ceramics at San Bao Ceramic Art Institute in Jingdezhen, China. He is a Resident Artist at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA.
