Joe Pintz
Joseph Pintz intuitively carves terra-cotta bricks into sculptural and functional shapes. The muted color palette creates a subtle, weathered surface that suggests a history of use. Pintz earned his BA in Anthropology and Urban Studies at Northwestern University, completed Post-Baccalaureate studies in Ceramics at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and received his MFA from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. He was a resident artist at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts where he was awarded the Lincoln Fellowship. He has taught Ceramics at Bowling Green State University and will soon take a Professor position at the University of Missouri - Columbia.
