This tumbler was slip-cast using porcelain. It was colored with slip and a glossy, translucent glaze. The tumblers were fired in a cone 10 oxidation process and measure 3" x 4" x 3".

Hiroe Hanazono, a native of Japan, received her MFA from the Ohio University in 2008. In addition to participating as an artist in residence at the Archie Bray Foundation and Worcester Center for the Crafts, Hanazono has worked at various artist communities including the Peters Valley Craft Center and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. Her porcelain casted wares have been shown both nationally and internationally. Hanazono was the recipient of the 2008-2009 Evelyn Shapiro Foundation Fellowship at the Clay Studio in Philadelphia, where she continues to work.
