Sandi Pierantozzi Hands-On Workshop

Join Sandi Pierantozzi for this hands-on weekend workshop that covers hand-building functional pottery. Form, functionality, and craftsmanship are the focus of this workshop. Demonstrations will include forming (using circular and rectangular templates) and altering techniques. Sandi will show how various types of handles are made (from slabs and coils) and alternate ways of treating the bottom of a pot by adding feet or foot rings. Participants of all skill levels will gain valuable experience and be able to apply these techniques while participating in the workshop. Red Star Studios is pleased to partner with Baker University to offer current educators graduate credit at a greatly reduced fee of $70 per credit hour (a savings of $50). This fee is in addition to the cost of the workshop.

Sandi Pierantozzi is an award-winning studio potter from Philadelphia, PA who teaches workshops throughout the country. Sandi has been making pots since 1984 and currently shares a studio with her husband, potter Neil Patterson.

An exhibition of Sandi and Neil Patterson’s work will open at Red Star Studios Gallery on First Friday, March 2 with an opening reception from 6-9PM.
